The Angels Camp City Council passed a resolution on September 5, 1995 that reads in part "it is fitting that we recognize and express our appreciation to our citizens who make the extra effort to make this world a better and more kind place; and whereas, the City of Angels Camp is a zone of kindness and this Good Neighbor Day will serve to remind residents and visitors that random kindness is practiced every day in our City. . ."

Angels Camp is a good place to live and by a City Council proclamation Angels Camp became a “Kindness Zone” on February 17 1995. On Sept. 5, 1995 the Angels Camp City Council proclaimed the third Friday of September as “Good Neighbor Day”.
