On Saturday, September 28, 2002, Angels Camp will turn out to support our Bret Harte High School students. The association changed the name from "Steps For Students" to "The Judy Dixon Memorial Scholarship Fund" and dedicated the scholarship fund to Judy Dixon, the walking lady, in memory of her efforts for our students, and her own battle against cancer in 1998. The Judy Dixon Memorial Scholarship Fund was able to increase the amount of each scholarship from $250 to $500 because of her drive and dedication to the program. The scholarships will go to each of three Bret Harte High School students.

Our 5th Annual Steps for Students will be held:
Saturday, September 28, 2002
10:30 AM Check in at Utica Park

This years event is open to everyone who would like to help our students. We especially invite students to participate. Walkers need to obtain a pledge sheet in advance and collect pledge signatures and funds.

Walkers will go from Utica Park to the Save Mart parking lot and back to the park. There will be bottled water and sodas available to all walkers before and after the walk, at the Mark Twain Statue.

For those who aren't walking or pledging please show up and enjoy the fun. We will be accepting donations at the event and by mail.
