Our last official meeting before the event was held on Monday night at Camps, a lovely restaurant at Greenhorn Creek Golf Course.

The final, final schedule was passed out along with work assignments. The schedule was actually changed again, maybe more than once. The changes were inevitable and necessary. I didn't get the final, final, final changes, so this schedule was a little off. They did get the last, final schedule to Rayce at the Ledger Dispatch, so that he could print it. There was only one, minor change after that.

It was definitely an association project, so many members worked in concert to bring it together. I have to commend Lynda and Kate, our presidents, in their untiring efforts to cooridinate the event. I imagine they did some serious resting afterward.

During that last meeting many of the members were asking about the wonderful Frog tent that had been used in years past. Buck said that the tent, as lovely as it is, is impossible to put together. He said (half jokingly) that there are only two people who know how to put it together and they aren't available. There aren't any instructions and if we can figure out how to put it together, he will donate it to the association.

Evidently we felt up to the challenge because just before 6PM on Friday a group of us gathered in the Hardscrabble parking lot. We started slowly, shaking our heads, wondering if we had bit off more than we could chew. It did look complicated but we persisted. Slowly, it began to look like we might make it.

I guess the news spread because it seems Buck was pulled away from his nice Italian meal at a local restaurant to come watch. After watching for a while he even pitched in and helped a little.

I think we finished up a little before 9PM, when Janet Cusilage of Vintage Realty offered to take everyone out for pizza at Mikes Pizza. We had a wonderful time, thanks Janet. It's heartwarming to enjoy being a community, working and breaking bread, in this case pizza, together.
