Jim Bergantz (regional kindness coordinator) of the Angels Camp chapter, recently participated in the formation of the “KINDNESS COALITION”.

The University of Colorado in Colorado Springs was the site for the meeting of the committee to form the “Kindness Coalition”, an inclusive group of socially conscious individuals and organizations united to encourage kindness as a way of life.

With an official launch date of December 1996, the Coalition is pleased to announce its exciting goals, membership guidelines and upcoming activities.

Goals of the Kindness Coalition are:

• to bridge and unite the diversity in our world through kind acts;
• to help people value self and others through the expression of kind acts;
• to foster an environment of kindness which encourages individuals and organizations to work together for a better world;
• to support any individual or organization who shares the Coalition’s mission, goals and desire to work together.

Immediate plans for the organization include building a resource database of promotional materials from all Coalition and interested community members. This database will be particularly helpful in establishing efficient means of communication between Coalition members.
