The Angels Camp City Council passed a resolution on September 5, 1995 that reads "it is fitting that we recognize and express our appreciation to our citizens who make the extra effort to make this world a better and more kind place; and whereas, the City of Angels Camp is a zone of kindness and this Good Neighbor Day will serve to remind residents and visitors that random kindness is practiced every day in our City. . ."

Angels Camp is a good place to live and by a City Council proclamation Angels Camp became a “Kindness Zone” on February 17 1995. On Sept. 5, 1995 the Angels Camp City Council proclaimed the third Friday of September as “Good Neighbor Day”.
